Ryan is a Richmond- and New York–based musician whose love for music began at age three, singing old German tunes in his hometown of Bremen, Germany. A graduate of the University of Richmond with degrees in Business Administration and Music, he chose to pursue his musical career full-time after college.

Primarily a vocalist, Ryan performs professionally with the University of Richmond’s Schola Cantorum and with Second Presbyterian Church under conductor Jeffrey Riehl. He is also an experienced multi-instrumentalist, playing rhythm guitar with his band State Forest and performing lead guitar and keys with the University of Richmond’s Roots Ensemble.

Ryan has released multiple solo projects, including his 2024 single “Rainbow Girl” and his EP Let the Music Play.

In addition to performing, Ryan has experience in mixing and production—both in a cappella contexts and on folk artist harf.’s EP Watch You Fly.
